Christmas Candy and a Talk... 11/06/2011

W.T. and Cleare Beeson moved out of the apartment next door to Willie and Helen and Pauline Puckett, another cousin moved in.  They celebrated another Christmas in their little apartment home full all kinds of homemade goodies.  Helen wanted to be sure that Willie got his candy this time around.
When she sent that candy to him while he was on the ship, it was less than a success!  So she made divinity, fudge and his favorite... peanut brittle for all the family to enjoy. When they went to the Christmas program that year at church, each of them got a bag of fruit and nuts to take home...those were the best tasting apples and oranges ever.  The kids loved getting fresh fruit and the smell of delicious food baking in the apartment helped to make Christmas really fun and special.  Nothing like the smell of Christmas.

After the decorations were put away for another year, and the kids were snuggled in their beds, Willie and Helen sat down in the living room to talk about how good it was to be together as a family.  Willie had been running something through his head over the past few weeks, but hadn't said anything to Helen about it yet.  As they sat there, he decided that now was as good a time as any to bring the subject up.

He had missed so much while he was away for those three years, especially when it came to the kids.  Larry had been such a little guy when he left and Sondra had been barely one.  Being away from them when they were so little had been one of the hardest things for him.

He just jumped right in and asked her what she thought about having another baby.  Helen said "Well why can't we take care of that?"  She was all for carrying his child again.  She knew they had enough love to go around and was ready to add another member to their little family.

Well when they set their minds to having another baby, it didn't take long for Helen to get pregnant.  By February she was already experiencing morning sickness, so there was no doubt she was going to have a baby and according to her calculations the due date would be around the first part of September.
