Linda Helen Tollison 11/09/2011

When Linda was born, Willie couldn't have been more excited!  She was his little brown eyed girl and her olive complexion was beautiful.  Considering how much Helen had went through to get their baby girl here, bringing her home from the hospital was a day of celebration.
She was a good little baby and such a healthy eater.  As with her other two babies, Helen wanted to breast feed her.  She had heard that the mother's milk was so good for them and it was the most natural thing to do.  Helen loved the bonding time she had with Linda while feeding her.  She would look in those big brown eyes and just marvel at how each of her children looked so different.  Yes, they were different, but she loved them all the same.

There was something about Linda that put a special feeling in Willie and Helen's hearts...their love for her was overwhelming.  I think this was because they had actually talked about having another child and here she was...their baby girl.  Willie would be able to enjoy watching the things he missed with the other children.  That in itself made her pretty special.

As Helen nursed Linda during her feedings every 3 to 4 hours, something didn't seem quite right.  Helen was not feeling well and began to run a fever and realized that she had an infection in one of her breasts.  She continued to nurse her on the one that was not infected and Linda did great.  When the infection cleared up, she was able to feed her on that side as well.  Now that was determination on Helen's part to continue to do what was best for her baby even when she was having trouble nursing.

Larry and Sondra weren't a bit jealous of their baby sister.  They tried to be very quiet when she was sleeping and would give her sweet little kisses on her cheek when mommy would let them.  She taught them how to give butterfly kisses and they loved it!

Willie wanted to do everything he could to provide for his growing family, so he started trying to decide if he should teach school again or resume his college.  This was something he and Helen should have a serious talk about...
