Morning Sickness and Kraut 11/07/2011
The morning sickness was fierce! Helen didn't have nausea this bad with her other two pregnancies, but this time she seemed to be sick all the time. She would get up in the morning and think, "Today will be better!" Then her feet would barely hit the floor and she was hanging her head over a bucket. She went to the doctor once a week to get a shot for the nausea and that would last her for about two or three days and then it was back to the bucket. The doc would only allow her to get a shot one time a week, so the time in between was tough for Helen. On one of those trips back from the doctor, Helen started craving something...you won't believe what she was wanting more than anything. She couldn't wait to get home so she could open up a pint of kraut. She sat down and ate the entire pint of kraut...nothing with it...just kraut. She kept it down and seemed to be the only thing she could eat. Larry and Sissy were excited that there would soon be a baby in the house. They were still little squirts, but understood that growing in their mommy's belly was either a little brother or sister and they were looking forward to this addition to their family. Willie was still working at the oil mill in Ristine when Helen found out that they could move back into her brother Shelton's house. His house was smack dab in the middle between their apartment and her mom and dad's house. Moving there would save them a little money and with another one on the way...they needed to save where they could. They no longer had the baby bed they had used for Sondra, so they would have to make other arrangements. Which would probably mean a baby in their bed and pallets on the floor. They moved into the little house the last part of July which would give them a little over a month to get settled before the baby arrives. Helen continued to get her weekly shots and eat her kraut to help with the morning sickness. Comments Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply | _Author
