Another Move This Time to Murray Lane 12/20/2011
Larry, Sissy, Linda, Jim Bo and Paula Pete were waiting patiently at home for mom and dad to come home from seeing the house on Murray Lane. They have some wonderful memories at Matthews Street, but when mom and dad came in the door and told them that they would be moving again, they were neither unhappy nor surprised. Larry and Sondra have already moved at least ten times since they entered this world, so today's move is old hat for them. So on a beautiful day in August, the Tollison family again packed up their belongings to move a few blocks away in Sikeston, Missouri. Willie would take the treasured air conditioner out of the duplex on Matthews Street and put it in the living room side window of the house on Murray Lane where it will keep them cool. The kids were excited when they saw the house where they were moving...There was a fence along both sides of the property on Murray Lane with honeysuckle vines interweaving throughout. The front yard was small, but the back yard had plenty of room to play, more then they had ever had. On one side of the house the yard was the size of a small lot big enough for a garden and room to park a car, with the other side of the house sitting pretty close to the fence and the neighbors. So much room to play and trees to climb...the kids would have so many adventures here. The shed out back would provide them with storage and a place for Willie to tinker around in his spare time. Mom and Dad would take the front bedroom as theirs...it was located right off the living room. The bathroom was between the their room and the bedroom that would be the girls room. The girls would put their beds on either side of the room along the wall with a baby bed in the corner for Paula. Jimmy and Larry would have a room off the back bedroom that had at one time been a porch, but had been closed in for an extra bedroom. There was a nice sized eat-in kitchen where Helen would cook for her family and begin to teach her girls how to cook. When the last box was unpacked, Helen ran a bath, stretched out in the tub and took a long hot bath. Larry and Sondra were chasing the younger kids around the new yard having a good time. What fun to have a place to play and not worry about anything...just have fun. Helen called the kids inside so they could get cleaned up and eat a little something then go to bed. Everyone was pretty tired from helping move, so sleep would come easy tonight. Comments Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply | _Author
