Mom and Dad are enjoying all the sights and sounds of Nashville, TN making every moment count.  Larry and Jimmy are trying their best to get to sleep on the feather bed in the back room of Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes house.  It's always hard to get used to your surroundings when you are away from your own home.  Jimmy was happy he was with his big brother and Larry did what he always does...took care of his little brother.  He told him to close his eyes and before ya know it...it will be morning.

_Larry and Jimmy woke up with the smell of food cooking in the kitchen.  Grandma Rhodes was doing what she does best...cooking for those she loves.  Today she was adding a special helping of love for the two sleeping boys in the back bed.  Eunice didn't know how to make just a little bit, so the platefuls she had on the table for Larry and the one for Jimmy were huge.  Biscuits and gravy, fresh scrambled eggs and home cured bacon.  Larry was convinced that his Grandma Rhodes could make some of the best white gravy and he couldn't wait to dig in.  He was also pretty happy that his grandma was the one who taught his mom how to cook.

One of the things that bothers Larry more than anything when he is at his grandparents house was the smell of whiskey that lingered when his grandpa came around.  I'm sure he loved his family, but was always so gruff with the way he talked to everyone, and was always spitting in that old coffee can.  Yuck!  Why does he do that?

Bill, his cousin, came down to play with Larry and Jimmy, and they were ready to have a good time.  They found their Grandpa Rhodes' bottle of whiskey, and decided to get into a little mischief.  How funny would it be to hide his bottle and watch him looking for it?  I'm sure if he'd found them trying to hide his bottle, they would have been in big trouble.  But, these guys were pretty sneaky in their mischief!  They found where he kept his bottle...out in the shed... they grabbed it and hid it.  Then they hid, and watched for him to come to get his bottle.  When he came to get him a drink and found that it was missing, he stormed out of the shed letting out a bunch of curse words as he left.  When Bill and Larry were sure he was gone, they would put the bottle back in it's place and hide once again.  Grandpa had been looking all over the place with no luck, so he returned to the shed to look one more time.  Low and behold!  There it was!  He would pick it up and take a swig, shaking his head wondering how he missed it before.

They didn't let Jimmy know what they were up to because they were afraid he would accidentally let it slip that they had played the trick on their grandpa.
