Have you ever been taking a shower and realize your feet are in a puddle of water? You go ahead and finish your shower...wipe up the surface things that may be causing the water to puddle under your feet and go on about your day. Each morning you start the shower up and each morning that puddle becomes a little deeper and more annoying. Until you realize that there is something deeper causing this situation, you are going to keep on shaking water off your feet and staying annoyed. You are going to keep wishing this wouldn't happen and wishing you didn't have to deal with it. One morning, you've had enough and you pour that drain cleaner in there and wah lah...water is flowing freely once again.
The solution was simple, yet we avoid it until we can no longer stand it. How silly can we be?
This is much the way it is with being stubborn in our forgiveness of others. It can literally drain you of your happiness. Being willing to look at your life and be honest with yourself is so important. Most all of us have things in our lives that we wish we would have done differently. We have those clogged up areas that are there because we have never allowed ourselves to dig a little deeper into the cause of our unhappiness. That root of unforgiveness that you have hidden away, needs to be brought out and dealt with. If you get up everyday and live a life of unforgiveness...you will never be able to have all that God has for you.
Forgiveness is something you must do whether you feel like it or not...if you don't...you will never shake that unhappiness off of your life. Unclog what is draining you...Choose Forgiveness!! Col 3:12-14 "Therfore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection."
